30 years of L’Art de Vivre
Dear guests and friends of L’Art de Vivre!
In 2017 we are looking back with great pride on three decades of L’Art de Vivre – what a great time it has been with all of you: our hosts, partners and friends.
In this way our latest guide invites yet agian, to set out on a culinary journey with us – from Sylt to Munich, from the Dreis near the Moselle river to the German capital on the river Spree, from Switzerland via the South Tyrol right across to Salzburg.
On a daily basis our L’Art de Vivre hosts yearn not to stay still. Some people say that the culinary world is gravitating towards ‘casual fine dining’. And so, often the topic of conversation is: the enjoyment of fine cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, being casually-dressed and yet being pampered according to the due formality of the art. So now, a new generation of diners is discovering and appreciating gourmet restaurants for themselves.
No matter what it’s called, the art of cooking in the best kitchens of the regions, each holding its unique promise, and where a coherent concept impresses guests – each engagement works in a way that is valuable for both for the guests and their host.
We saw participants at the competition „Prize for great hospitality“ proudly wearing their professional outfits, which is perhaps unusual but the employees wore them very naturally. The identification with one’s own profession and house does inspire greater things.
In this 30th year we are particularly proud of the diversity of hosts, chefs, and regions, which ensures that, as members of L’Art de Vivre, we can be assured that we will feel good when we visit and that the stay will invite us to return.
With my very best regards,
President L’Art de Vivre
